Methods: The study applies a sample population out of randomly selected male and female students of the University. The data was collected through online questionnaires that were carried out among 159 students from different departments at Effat university. The questionnaire consisted of three sections: (1) demographic questions, including gender, and educational level; (2) Emotional Intelligence (Mehta & Singh, 2013) scale contains 25 questions (3) Self-Affirmation scale (Reed & Aspinwall, 1998) contains 25 questions. Data was analyzed using SPSS Statistics. Results: The analysis of the results proved that there is a statistically significant relationship between the scores of the students on the emotional intelligence scale and their scores on self affirmation scale and they were strongly positively correlated, r(.455) p(.001). After Assessing five different domains of the Emotional intelligence scale the results were correlated, except for self-motivation which was not correlated with any of the other factors. Conclusion: This study reflects the relationship between emotional intelligence and self- affirmation among Effat University students, identifies the scores of emotional intelligence and self-affirmation and reveals the existence of differences between students.
