Abstract
This thesis investigates the design and use of the Hydro-Grow Tea Unit, a singular furniture
piece that combines utility with aesthetic pleasure, as a new product for bringing hydroponic
methods into contemporary life. In modern times, alternative agriculture and sustainable food
sourcing have come of age as successful mechanisms for the solving of complicated
environmental and social sustainability challenges. for the solving of complicated environmental
and social sustainability challenges. Hydroponics allows plants to grow without soil by using
nutrient-rich water to supply the necessary minerals to the plant roots, which enables faster
growth and more fruitful yields.
The inbuilt hydroponic mechanism of the Hydro-Grow Tea Unit easily facilitates the growth of
small plants and fresh herbs for its users. It gives them a regular and continuous supply of greens
and hence motivates healthiness. Whether the outside light conditions are, the integrated LED
grow lights will always let the plants have the kind of light needed for proper development.
Then, the modular plant pods will allow users to tailor their greenery according to seasonal
change or as their taste may be, while an air diffuser will add the perfect atmosphere through the
diffusion of essential oils by creating a calming ambiance. This study employs a mixed-method
approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research to assess key objectives, including
user satisfaction, usability, environmental impact, health benefits, and the ease of using the unit
for preparing teas. Additionally, the study examines the table's ergonomic design, ease of
maintenance, and user engagement with hydroponic gardening. By measuring these objectives,
the research provides a comprehensive understanding of user preferences for design and
functionality. The Hydro-Grow Tea Unit represents an innovative solution for modern lifestyles
and contributes to improving health while enriching indoor spaces aesthetically.
