Expanding from this base and through the application of Jung’s archetypal criticism and Chodorow’s further study on feminist psychoanalysis, it aims to understand the psychoanalytical factor behind a woman to break out of the ‘supposed’ norm. The focus will be on highlighting Pilar as a domineering woman who adopted masculine qualities, yet stands as a mother figure throughout the text.
