dc.description.abstractThis chapter elaborates on the key ideas of digital transformation as they are communicated in the recent literature. The authors synthesize complementary aspects for the study of the phenomenon and introduce a novel framework for a strategic approach to digital transformation in modern organizations. They also present the key determinants of digital transformation strategy with key emphasis on the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. In their approach, three functional pillars of synergetic efficiency and performance for the digital transformation are highlighted: Pillar 1. Business Process Reengineering (Data, Knowledge, and Process Management); Pillar 2. Technology-Driven Value proposition for Digital Transformation; and Pillar 3. Quality Assurance (KPIs & Benchmarks). Additionally, the authors introduce five pillars of strategic aspects and impact for the digital transformation framework: Pillar 4. Policy Recommendations and Strategic Implications; Pillar 5. Digital Transformation Digital Innovation Foundations; Pillar 6. Value Creation and Cocreation; Pillar 7. Technology Enhancement; and Pillar 8. Platform-Mediated Ecosystems. Finally, the authors present the key challenges for the digital transformation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in Saudi Arabia.en_US
