    Abstract
This study focuses on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital transformation, particularly in the healthcare industry. It highlights the significant progress made in global research during the COVID-19 pandemic, where digital technology played a crucial role in fighting the virus and developing solutions. The World Health Organization launched strategic response plans and the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator to address the challenges posed by the pandemic. The study also emphasizes the need for scientific investment to achieve smarter development and addresses the lack of bibliometric analysis on AI and COVID-19 in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The chapter outlines the research methodology and presents bibliometric visualizations and trends. It discusses the scientific output and relationships among publications in the GCC region, with a focus on digital transformation and COVID-19 mitigation measures. The chapter concludes with future research directions.
