Abstract
In contemporaryurban design, the major concerns relate to the use of technology and the primary functions of a given area. This proposal has a simple goal of developing a novel concept in smart public seating areas with attention paid to the user experience and comfort. In the framework of a product design, the challenge lays in design a dynamic and innovative seating solution that contains sophisticated elements such as air conditioning system, charging of device, and smart interface. The designed concept of a smart public sitting area is not only a comfortable place to rest for people passing by but an innovative intelligent node in city environment. As a result of integrating modern technological advancements with comfortable design methodologies, this project aims to redesign conventional bench projects and make the environments more comfortable and stimulating for its users. This proposal wants to establish a benchmark for urban furniture design over an important stage of the process by prioritizing accuracy plus the practice of the circular economy. Being aesthetically pleasing, functional, and technologically driven the envisioned smart seating area can be seen as a prospect to improve the quality of design within the urban environment. This proposal encourages approaches from other parties to enhance the development of these concepts and make the final design a representation of the various users’ demands and urban systems. Collectively we have the potential of transforming the functional street furniture into interactive creative public spaces that produce positive reactions and create a stimulating environment for the public.
