Abstract
The evolution of architectural, urban, and social practicescalls for reimagining stadiums and sport parks to be integrated as part of their surrounding communities and the wider city. This study explores the best practices to integrate stadiums and sport parks into their surrounding urban tissue, with more focus on the cultural and regional practices that would ensure comprehensive integration of the promising stadiums being developed the context of Saudi Arabia. Although stadiums and sport parks designed and developed in Saudi Arabia are being evolved to be integrated into surroundings and acting as hubs, there is a tendency to overlook specific design strategies that ensure effective integration within the context of Saudi cities, while also overlooking cultural practices and regional factors in stadium and sport park development projects. The methodology approach taken in the research, incorporating a mixed method research design, to address the research objectives, combining deep case study analysis and thematic analysis of expert interviews to the previously analyzed literature review. The findings highlight that strategical development of stadiums/sport parks can act as catalyst for urban regeneration while ensuring cultural cohesive development. The thesis serves as a guide for stadium parks developers in the context of Saudi to ensure the developments are contributing positively to their surroundings.
