Abstract
Background: As of late, the global financial system has gained a dangerous reputation in
people’s minds as one of the root causes of various worldwide problems. This research aims to
shine a light on how the modern financial system has shaped the way we live and how banks and
access to finance has improved people’s lives over the years. In doing so
Objective: The study is aims to answer what’s the role of banks in a financial crisis from the
lens of bank employees in Saudi Arabia and how banks could further help people to achieve their
goals and dreams.
Methodology: Is quantitative in nature and aims to survey the employees of banks and
understand what is the purpose of a bank should ideally be and what should banks be doing
during a financial crisis to improve people’s lives.
Conclusions: The banking industry should stick to its basics of capital creation and helping out
companies even during a financial crisis because such services are vital to the economy and keeps the
financial system well lubricated
