Abstract
This section provides a comprehensive overview of the modeling techniques used to simulate fluid flow and transport phenomena in fractured porous media. These environments are common in natural reservoirs and other geological formations where a network of fractures intersects the porous rock matrix, creating complex pathways for fluid movement (see Figure 6.1). The approaches covered here lay the groundwork for the numerical solutions and computational implementations that follow.
