Abstract
In this film, I explore the paradox of material abundance and emotional emptiness through the story of a wealthy man dressed in worn clothing, who contemplates his musical instrument in an effort to reclaim his sense of self. As both writer and director, I examine art, particularly music, not as a luxury but as an essential human need, central to emotional and psychological well-being. Visually, I employ symbolism to reflect the character’s inner transformation. His tattered clothing signifies his spiritual state, while positioning him at the center of the frame underscores the tension between his external possessions and internal void. The film adopts a dramatic and melodramatic tone to intensify the depiction of his emotional journey. This project is deeply informed by my personal experiences with music and its transformative power, which shaped both the thematic focus and aesthetic choices. Through this film, I aim to convey the profound isolation that can accompany a life of apparent success and to demonstrate how engagement with art allows for emotional fulfillment, presence, and resilience.
