Abstract
This thesis investigates how integrating leisure and educational spaces with inclusive interior design in mental health facilities reduces the stigma associated with mental illness and promotes public participation. The study tries to change perceptions and interactions in these places by analyzing the interior design aspect. It explores how deliberate design elements collaborate to create a setting that engages different social groups and lessens stigma. The thesis aims to build places that empower individuals with different mental health needs by combining these components. By utilizing an in-depth examination of design principles, psychological theories, and case studies, this research indicates the crucial function that these constituents perform in molding behaviors, emotions, and actions in mental health settings. It reveals flexible methods that address the diverse demands of the community. The suggested layout incorporates multipurpose areas with thoughtful lighting, soothing color schemes, tactile materials, and ergonomic design elements. These components are meant to create an environment that fosters everyone's comfort, well-being, and involvement. This thesis advocates for a paradigm shift in the design of mental health centers by highlighting inclusive design aspects as catalysts for society awareness and engagement, and it concludes with a holistic design framework. It highlights how interior design has the power to transform mental health environments, encouraging empathy and opening doors to a more caring society.
