Abstract
The Startup Business Hub project plays a vital role in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth, which are core pillars of Saudi Vision 2030. This research explores the architectural design of a dynamic and inclusive hub that supports small businesses, encourages collaboration, and nurtures a vibrant entrepreneurial community. The paper is organized into several chapters. The first chapter introduces the project’s theme, objectives, and sponsorship opportunities, establishing its significance within the local context. The second chapter presents a comparative analysis of three international case studies: Karl Miller Center, ICÔNE Office Complex, and Bard Student Residences, highlighting key strategies in spatial organization and functional design. The third chapter develops the building program, focusing on user flow, functional zoning, and space requirements tailored to the hub’s diverse users. The fourth chapter provides a detailed site analysis, covering selection criteria, land regulations, climate conditions, accessibility, and the surrounding context. The fifth chapter outlines the final design proposal, including conceptual development, architectural drawings, structural and mechanical systems, environmental strategies, and final project renders. The appendix addresses building standards and space analysis, including office units, educational facilities, and supporting functional areas. The outcome of this research lays the foundation for designing a Startup Business Hub by addressing the essential design principles, spatial strategies, and contextual requirements necessary for the successful implementation of an innovation-driven entrepreneurial center in Riyadh.
