Abstract
This capstone project leads to the design of a smart collar for pets which monitors pet health such as blood oxygen, heart rate, sleep habits, as well as location tracking, similar to smart watches and wristbands that people use to track their own health. There is usually a big inconvenience in regularly taking pets to the vet, and it can be quite expensive as well. This smart collar will cut the time and money that will be spent on going to the veterinary clinic. The smart pet collar intends to be linked with a mobile application that displays all the monitoring, anywhere, anytime. The collar will have a long battery life that can last an entire week, but a longer period might be achievable depending on the technology used and needed. The aim of this study is to introduce a new design that will change the lives of both pets and their owners.
