Abstract
This capstone thesis presents a 10-15 minute documentary film highlighting the
resilience and beauty of Aleppo, Syria. The film captures Aleppo's rich cultural heritage and
personal stories, focusing on how its people maintain strength and joy despite war. Through a
narrative of hope and unity, the project aims to inspire resilience and perseverance.
The thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter One lays the foundation, including
the introduction, research problem, methodology, and references. Chapter Two explores the
creative process, detailing the logline, synopsis, treatment, script, storyboard, and director’s
statement. Chapter Three focuses on the production phase, covering on-location filming,
technical execution, and teamwork. Chapter Four reflects on the overall experience,
discussing challenges, lessons learned, and the documentary's impact.
This thesis serves as a technical guide and tribute to Aleppo’s enduring spirit, sharing
its untold stories with the world while celebrating hope and resilience.
