Abstract
The increasing need for comfort during outdoor prayers has driven the development of innovative religious products. This study focuses on designing a Cooled Prayer Mat that incorporates modern technologies such as passive and active cooling systems, ergonomic cushioning, and traditional Islamic aesthetics. The research investigates user needs, environmental challenges, and current market gaps through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and case studies. The product aims to solve common problems faced by worshippers, such as heat discomfort, joint strain, and lack of portability, especially during religious events like Hajj and Umrah. The proposed design combines advanced materials like breathable fabrics, memory foam, and solar-powered cooling components while maintaining cultural sensitivity. Key findings reveal that users prioritize features like portability, durability, and thermal regulation. Based on these insights, the study proposes a unique product that enhances comfort, convenience, and spiritual experience. This project’s significance extends to religious organizations, product manufacturers, and individual worshippers, offering a well-rounded, practical, and culturally appropriate solution for outdoor prayers.
